Marc F. McMorris is a co-founder of Carrick Capital and has been a Managing Director at the firm since January 2012. At Carrick, Marc is directly involved in the identification, selection and post-investment growth guidance of the firm’s companies in technology-enabled services including BPO, Transaction Processing and Software as a Service (SaaS). He closely works with the CEOs, executive teams, and boards of the firm's portfolio, leveraging his deep understanding of sales, finance, capital structures and corporate governance. Marc closely assists these companies in navigating growth opportunities and the creation of their substantial long-term value. Marc serves on the Board of Directors of Carrick companies Complia, Infrascale, InfiniaML, PerfectSense, and Saama.
Prior to founding Carrick, Marc was with the private equity firm General Atlantic LLC (“GA”), where he was a Managing Director from 2003 to December 2011. He joined GA in 1999 and led the Palo Alto Office from 2007 to 2011. Prior to GA, Marc was a Vice President in Goldman Sachs' technology group and an Associate at Morgan Stanley. Marc began his career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Marc has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Fair Isaac Corporation (NYSE:FICO) since 2015. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania and is the Vice Chairman of the University’s Endowment.
Marc holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance and Accounting from The Wharton School of Business of The University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in Economics from the College of the Arts & Sciences, University of Pennsylvania.
Marc enjoys spending time with non-profit organizations including Classroom, Inc and Scholars for Educational Opportunity. He lives in the Bay Area with his family.
