New York, NY (December 4, 2018) - Axiom, a leading global alternative legal services provider, today announced two new additions to its Board of Directors: John Reid-Dodick, the former Chief People Officer of WeWork, Dun & Bradstreet, and AOL, as well as the former Americas General Counsel of Reuters, and Kathleen Philips, Chief Legal Officer and former CFO and COO of Zillow Group. Reid-Dodick currently serves as SVP, Culture at WeWork, and his appointment underscores Axiom’s continued commitment to investing in talent as the centerpiece of its company and culture. Philips, as Audit Chair, will play an important role in providing the type of corporate governance and financial oversight required given Axiom’s anticipated growth trajectory.

Both Reid-Dodick and Philips share Axiom’s vision for industry modernity, workforce flexibility, and marketplace efficiency. Their appointments will serve to reinforce Axiom’s ability to transform the legal industry through talent, technology, and a better business model.

“Kathleen and John are innovative executives who understand that the future of work will look quite different from older, traditional paradigms,” said Elena Donio, CEO of Axiom. “They understand how to harness the power of talent and technology to drive change in the way people work, where people work, and how services are delivered. They also have strong foundational experience with the requirements of accelerating and sustaining growth. They’re wonderful additions to Axiom’s board, at this unique moment in our company story. I couldn’t be more excited to welcome them into our growing team of senior leaders and advisors.”

As Compensation Chair, Reid-Dodick will help guide how Axiom invests in its talent programs and innovates for the future of work. He will bring to the boardroom years of relevant experience working in the high-growth atmosphere of WeWork. He also brings deep expertise in leadership and talent development, as well as organizational culture and change management, honed during his time at Thomson Reuters, Dun & Bradstreet, and AOL.

Said Reid-Dodick, “The shifting norms in how and where people work represent significant and permanent changes in the new economy. They require investing in scalable people programs, while remaining true to company culture, particularly during periods of growth and expansion. I look forward to drawing on my experience to help Axiom build on its talent successes, while protecting and amplifying the company’s innovative culture.”

Philips joins Axiom as Audit Chair, where she will help guide anticipated growth by ensuring Axiom has the appropriate financial controls, processes and systems to support significant expansion. Her distinguished record as the CFO, COO and CLO of Zillow Group will provide invaluable, multi-dimensional board guidance. In addition to the financial expertise and varied functional background she brings to her board seat, Philips will also bring Zillow Group’s relevant perspective as a marketplace operator and participant.

“There’s no greater journey to be on than that of scale and expansion,” said Philips. “I’m happy to be on that journey with Axiom, helping the company navigate both the challenges and opportunities resulting from growth. I’m even more thrilled to be doing it with a company that shares a passion for disrupting the status quo in order to create a more compelling and efficient exchange for clients and talent, alike.”

The additions build on Axiom’s recent appointments of Cathy Johnson as CIO and Lisa Young as General Counsel, creating a best-of-class senior leadership and advisory team that reflects Axiom’s industry leadership, growth and scale. With these appointments, the Axiom board now expands to nine members. In addition to Reid-Dodick and Philips, those members include: Mary L. Schapiro, Former SEC Chairwoman; Jim Madden, Co-founder, Carrick Capital; Bob Kagle, Partner, Benchmark Capital; Tom Neff, Chairman, Spencer Stuart US; Alec Guettel, Co-Founder, Axiom; Mark Harris, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, Axiom; and Donio.
